SHOPPING INFORMATION

Do you have a Return Policy on your saddles?

At Continental Saddlery we understand how important return options are to the customer.  Our return policy is simple. If you are not satisfied with the workmanship or the fit of your saddle you may return it for a full refund less shipping and handling within 7 days.
Any saddle returned outside of the allotted time frame will be “refunded” in the form of store credit.

For a full refund of your purchase price, we expect the saddle to be in excellent condition.

We understand that to properly try or test ride the saddle you have to go out and ride it. As long as the saddle shows no signs of misuse or abuse there will be no penalty or a restocking fee. A full refund, minus shipping, will follow after return of the saddle in resalable condition.

Any custom changes/personlizations added by the customer will not be returnable or refundable.

Any saddle that had a customization charge applied to it – the customization charge will not be refunded.

It is not simply our intention to sell saddles but our emphasis is also on fitting horses. A quality saddle is more than a purchase – it is a financial and emotional investment. So, it’s important to us that if the saddle doesn’t fit you or your horse, that you don’t feel ‘stuck’ with it. With one of the lowest rates of returns in the saddle industry, we’re absolutely confident that the vast majority of customers are going to be thrilled with their purchase – and this guarantee will help make it an even easier decision to order your Continental saddle.

Can I purchase accessories or new parts for my Continental saddle?

Yes, most certainly. If you know the saddle model number (located on the latigo holder) as well as the saddle color you may just enter our “Shop” and order your desired accessories there.

If you are unsure of the color or saddle model you have you may contact us via the “contact us” form or via email with the serial number of your saddle and we’d be glad to assist.

SADDLE INFO AND CARE

How do I care for my new Continental saddle?

Cleaning:

To simply remove dust, we recommend wiping the saddle down with a microfiber towel. If on hand, a can of compressed air is perfect to blow the dirt out of all the tooled areas. For a more thorough cleaning, we recommend washing the saddle with saddle soap to remove dirt grime and mold.

Conditioning:

After the saddle has dried completely, give it a light coat of good quality oil (pure neatsfoot, saddle oil, …) Be sure to wipe off any residue on silver and hardware to avoid drip marks.

Be sure to oil everything but the seat. This is also a good time to inspect things like stirrup leathers for any tears or stretching of the holes. We highly recommend Skidmore’s Leather Cream for conditioning the leather.  It cleans, conditions and protects the leather.

Another excellent product is Ray Holes Saddle butter. It is a great conditioner and will restore moisture to the leather which is very important after cleaning with soap. It is the only product we recommend for our “Fade to Gray” saddles since it is as close to neutral as possible and will not change the color if used correctly. Please don’t be alarmed if you see white residue on your fenders or skirt – this is saddle butter we applied before shipping your saddle to make sure the leather is conditioned, and your saddle is ready to ride straight out of the box.

Silver polishing:

Silver will tarnish and needs to be polished on a regular basis. Avoid using any harsh cleaners and excessive scrubbing.

We recommend Haggerty’s Silversmith’s polish or Brasso. Brasso is our preferred product to clean our “Midnite” style silver trim. Please be sure to wipe off any residue that gets on the leather.

Do your saddles have a serial number?

All of our saddles that were built past 2003 have a serial number. The number can be found underneath the left side fender, imprinted into the skirt.

It is pretty high up so you may need a flashlight in order to view it.

It starts with the letter “C” or “U” (depending on its age) followed by 11 numbers.
